Founding Principles
Carolyn Meakem built The Meakem Group on the belief that every client should know that we don’t just maintain their investments. We keep their long-term goals in mind. Carolyn’s first career was as a 1st grade teacher, and educating our clients has always been central to the team at The Meakem Group. At the heart, financial planning is about preparing for the future while enjoying the present. Carolyn took her first licensing exam in 1977 and we have stuck to her basic message, delivered in plain language, ever since.
A Lasting Legacy
Before Carolyn’s retirement and much to her surprise and delight, her daughter, Traci Richmond, JD, CDFA®, RICP®, left her 10 year career in law to join Carolyn at The Meakem Group. Traci started at the bottom, as a client service associate, learning the business and working her way up. As Carolyn transitioned into retirement, she had someone who she could trust to take the reins and responsibly care for the many widows and families who depend on The Meakem Group for their financial future.
Traci has continued her mother’s legacy of collaborative financial planning. Our process starts with a conversation and grows from there. Our client families have grown as well. We have several families who are now planning for the fourth generation!
