Do These 3 Things ASAP After Starting a New Job

When starting a new job, it can be easy to overlook the packet detailing your new benefits. But you could miss out on some excellent opportunities your new company has to offer.

Here’s what to do if you’ve recently started a new job:

First, evaluate your benefits
It’s easy to set it aside for another day. But by doing so, you could overlook some key benefits that are only available for a limited time.

Check to see if you’re eligible for a 401(k) plan
If so, contribute enough to get the company match.
And check out how your contributions are allocated. Some companies will offer a 401(k) plan with default settings that may not match your investment goals.

Don’t forget about your old 401k plan
You’ve worked hard to earn that money so you don’t want to leave it behind.
